Technical field guide
The sections below preserve the service-specific depth behind eDiscovery Review Platform, edited for the current national practice and its documented engagement model. Methods are selected for the source, authorization, system state and assigned specialty. No single tool or artifact establishes a conclusion, and legal, regulatory or certification decisions remain with the responsible authority.
Configure the workspace around the matter
A review platform should reflect the matter's data types, custodians, fields, issue codes, privilege protocol, redaction rules, user roles and production specification. GDF can configure a workspace for email, documents and supported modern communications, with field mapping and family relationships checked before substantive review begins.
Preserve context in modern communications
Slack, Teams and similar data do not behave like email. Threads, edits, reactions, attachments, participants and channel membership can change the meaning of an individual message. Review configuration should preserve those relationships and make any rendering or time-window decision visible to reviewers.
Search, analytics and AI-assisted queues
Keyword search, metadata filters, deduplication, threading, near-duplicate analysis and communication analysis can reduce avoidable review work. AI-assisted search or prioritization can be used under a written protocol with validation samples and human decisions recorded. No score replaces counsel's responsiveness or privilege judgment.
Roles, coding and quality control
Access is assigned by role and matter. Coding instructions define issues, responsiveness, confidentiality and escalation. Calibration and quality samples measure reviewer consistency, identify ambiguous rules and support correction before errors spread across the population. The review record should distinguish system actions from reviewer decisions.
Production and audit handoff
Redactions, privilege calls, family treatment and production fields are reconciled against counsel's approved specification. The handoff can include native or rendered files, text, metadata, load files, exception logs and a manifest. Current platform controls, hosting, assurance material and audit-event coverage are confirmed for the specific workspace during procurement.
