Remote collections while your team keeps working

We coordinate authorized access and define the mailboxes, date ranges and data sources before collection. Routine remote collection normally allows users to continue using Gmail. We document what was collected, when and how, verify the resulting data, and identify exceptions that need follow-up.

Scope may include messages, attachments, labels and other available metadata, plus relevant Drive files. Google Docs, Sheets and Slides linked in a message can change independently of the email. We assess the file content, ownership, sharing and available version information needed for the matter rather than assuming the email alone captures the document.

Preservation is more than downloading your email

A screenshot or forwarded message may lose the original headers and context. A user-selected export may omit conversations, linked documents or activity records. It may also be difficult to explain which settings were used and whether the collection was complete.

We help counsel and authorized administrators plan preservation before accounts are deleted, files are changed or records expire. Where available and appropriate, Google Vault can support retention, holds, search and export. Its coverage and access must be confirmed for the specific account and data. Email authentication, tracking and relationship maps

We examine native message data, headers, message identifiers, dates and attachments and compare them with other available copies and activity records. We assess whether differences indicate ordinary email processing, incomplete collection or possible alteration. We explain the basis for an opinion rather than relying on a screenshot or a familiar sender name.

Tracking reconstructs what the evidence shows about sending, delivery and subsequent handling. Communication timelines and relationship maps can reveal exchanges between participants, changes in frequency and relevant attachments. A recorded exchange is not proof of intent. We separate supported facts, reasonable inferences and questions the available records cannot answer.

Why Google Workspace logs need early attention

Workspace logs can supply context that the mailbox itself does not contain. Depending on the account, edition, privileges and retained records, Gmail events may show message actions and related client information. Other available records may help examine sign-ins, application access and changes to files or sharing.

We correlate relevant events with messages and files, check time zones and explain gaps. Log availability and retention vary; do not assume that keeping an email also keeps every associated activity record. See Google documentation for Gmail log events and Drive log events.

Personal Gmail and business Workspace need different plans

Personal Gmail does not provide the same organizational administration, Vault access or logging options as a managed Workspace account. We assess the authorized messages, exports, account activity and relevant device records available in each matter. A personal account can still contain valuable evidence, but we will not promise business-account logs that do not exist for it.

For Workspace, we work with authorized administrators to identify the relevant users, shared files and available logs. For either account type, we document the collection boundaries and avoid presenting unavailable records as proof that an event did not occur.

From Google evidence to eDiscovery production

We can collect, search and present Gmail and Workspace material according to counsel-approved ESI stipulations. The plan addresses custodians, dates, search terms, message families, labels, metadata and the required production format. We identify processing exceptions and preserve the relationship between produced items and their sources.

Our own tools support collection, deduplication, review preparation and load-file creation. We can organize repeated messages for efficient review while retaining their source relationships. Where applicable to collected files, deNIST processing helps identify known software files for documented review exclusions. It does not decide which email matters to a case. Original evidence remains preserved.

Combining these steps reduces repetitive processing and helps control review costs. We agree the scope and deliverable format with you rather than assuming that one export meets every production requirement.
